Can NOT apply updates

I have never had a problem updating plugin. Now I get the error below and can NOT apply updates:
Enabling Maintenance mode…
Updating Plugin Print Friendly and PDF (1/1)
Downloading update from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/printfriendly.3.4.1.zip…
An error occurred while updating Print Friendly and PDF: Download failed. Could not open handle for fopen() to /tmp/printfriendly.3.4.1.tmp
Disabling Maintenance mode…
Any help would be appreciated ….
