I think its a but unfair that the plugin get so many negative reviews because of this. If you cant delete the plugin from the WP Admin you always can delete the files in the plugin folder.
I don’t actually know whats going on, maybe the dev does not even clearly know what causes this. He said there is a fox for this, Maybe people are on a old version.
I don’t know if the scrips the delete the databases work before the actually deletion of files fails. Tables can also deleted manually and leaving them in there is not that bad I think.
But I have even seen a report that deleting this manually would still break the site, this is hard for me to believe but it may happen, other things on server, other plugins something may cause problems. But its not the fault of the dev or a plugin. People really fail to see it from another perspective, blaming someone is really easy.
I don’t because I develop a plugins myself. He for sure is not release the plugins laughing to himself “Oh lets see how many sites I can break” but some in the negative reviews react as if they are purposely abused guinea pigs. I feel sorry for him because I follow the updates and understand the work that goes into this plugin. People get it completely free and still act like assholes.
Also version 4.0 is coming soon with tons of improvements and hopefully this issue fixed as well. Many things are fixed in 4.0 and its a lot faster.
