Can’t edit edit theme files in wordpress 5.2.3

    i`m trying to edit my theme function.php but all i get is error message:
    “Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.”

    i have read this page and tried the suggestions but still noting works.

    how can i overcome this problem?

  • you can find a lot of ftp opensource programs. If you are uploading using cpanel is your file named function.php or functions.php. If you are uploading function.php that not the correct name. The Correct name is functions.php.
