Can not find 'Featured Image'

The featured image is still available using the_post_thumbnail() if you are in the Loop.

That depends. What does your plugin do? Is it filtering content within The Loop?

it’s an automotive site (cardemons.com) you set each vehicle as ‘featured image’ and it finds the inventory (www.mainstreetmotorssc.com)
I can’t load cars until i hit ‘FI’..

no – they did say the 3.5 is playing havoc with the plug-in but can’t tie them down long enough to solve problem.

don’t know if you can view the panel

You need to go back the the plugin author(s). In the meantime, once you have uploaded an image via add Media (or chosen it from your Media Library), the Set as featured image option is in the right-hand panel of the Media window.
