    Hi,
I have a problem with Braintree wordpress plugin.

Our customers can not fill fields for Credit Card payment at checkout. It seems like it is blocked if you want to insert numbers into fields for non registered users.

Can someone please help on this issue?

    Hi @simonphemp,

Sorry to hear about the trouble with this. Typically the problem you described is caused by a conflict from a third-party theme or plugin.

To find the cause, I would recommend setting up a staging site and running two tests. If you don’t already have a staging site set up, check with your hosting company as many offer this as part of their packages. Otherwise, you can use a free plugin such as WP Staging to set one up.

For the first test, you’ll want to change your theme to the default Twenty Seventeen or Storefront theme. Check to see if the problem is resolved. If it is, make sure your theme is up to date and then contact it’s developer to have them correct the issue with their code.

If that test doesn’t help, next disable all plugins except for WooCommerce and PayPal by Braintree and test again. If that resolves the problem you can slow reactivate your plugins while you test until the issue returns.

Once you’ve found the cause of the conflict (plugin or theme), make sure it’s up to date and then contact it’s developer to have correct the issue.

If that doesn’t help, we’ll need to run some further tests on your staging site. At that point please go to WooCommerce.com and log into to create a new ticket with our team.

I was having this same issue and I struggled for hours and tried deactivating plugins and changing themes. I added the WP Rollback Plugin and switched Paypal by Braintree Plugin back to 2.0.4 and it fixed it.

It seems that the lated updates for Paypal by Braintree Plugin DO NOT WORK! The developers need to get the bugs worked out of the plugin before putting a buggy plugin out there.

EVERYONE BEWARE: Do not upgrade your Paypal by Braintree Plugin or you will not be able to process Credit cards and you will lose sales.

Confirming that the WP Rollback fix from @shdog works great under the following conditions:
    Wordpress Version: 4.9.7
    WooCommerce Version: 3.4.4
    Theme: Flatsome 3.6.1

(obviously, make sure to test the rollback in a staging environment first, but all went smoothly for me)

This specific bug has been a big issue for our customers. To replicate the error with the Flatsome theme:
    1. Use any version of this Braintree plugin above 2.0.4
    2. Set a default payment method
    3. Get to checkout and attempt to select ‘new card’
    4. You’ll find the fields are entirely disabled and end-users cannot input their new card information.

I understand that this ‘may’ have to do with the theme or a plugin installed, but the developers of this plugin clearly aren’t maintaining it properly.

Developers: just to be clear. THIS ISSUE IS NOT RESOLVED. I will notify our theme developer of possible errors on their end, but for now I am thankful to have a fix in place so our customer’s can continue to add new cards at checkout.

I renamed the existing plugin and then uploaded the one from 2.0.4 because of the above issues. This solves the issues, the rest of my site is fully updated. Would be nice to have a fix.

This plugin still causes issues as before on woocommerce 3.5 and plugin updated to 2.1.4. The user cannot checkout because the entire payment portion of the checkout section is always “loading”.

I have this issue also. I changed themes and disabled plug-ins and have been stuck on version 2.0.4 to enable people to checkout. Now there is a deprecation notice across the top of the screen.

Nevermind my issue, it seems to be working now. Not sure what the issue was.
