• When I am trying to reinstall wordpress at localhost, I got an error message. That shown bellow

    “Can’t select database
We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the wordpress2 database.

    Are you sure it exists?
Does the user root have permission to use the wordpress2 database?
On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress2. Could that be the problem?
If you don’t know how to set up a database you should contact your host. If all else fails you may find help at the WordPress Support Forums.

    Try again”

I want to inform that Database Name,Table Prefix all I provide new & previous database I drop from phpmyadmin(WAMP SERVER).
But I cant reinstall it WAMP as well as XAMPP also. Both server error message is same.
    Please help me.

  • You cannot use a url for the database user name! You have to use the user name that you set up when you created the database.

error message is Can’t select database…

Your database connection details are still not correct.

    Now?

    Now what?

I edit my error message(at my first post) . Still now wordpress not reinstall successfully.

We cannot tell you what what database details to use. That would be like asking asking Microsoft to give you the password to your Windows laptop.

    Sorry.
I will provide you form information, which I enter to install

    Database Name: wordpress2
    User Name: root
    Password:
    Database Host: localhost
    Table Prefix: newwp_

We have no idea what database details you need to use on your locally hosted WordPress install!

I just want to reinstall wordpress to wamp(localhost), because I unfortunately drop previous database from mysql(phpmyadmin).
I already use this wordpress version in this wamp.
This is my second time installation.
For this reason I try to config manually wp-config.php , at this time error message :Error establishing a database connection.

    Please give me a solution.

The only suggestion we can give you is that you check your database details. We do not know – and do not have any access to whatsoever – your local server.

    Ok!! Thanks a lot.

You are running WAMP and dropped the database called wordpress2. Once try to drop the database and try to create new one using phpMyAdmin. That should solve the problem.
