Can only add two ads to a page

The Adsense plugin keeps giving me this error when I try to add a third add to a page: “This template has more than 3 display ads. The maximum allowed is 3 ads per template. Remove some before you save.” I cant add the third add. Can someone please let me know how to fix this?
