Can see pages but not post

  • Hello,

    I as my name suggest’s am completely new to web building and design; I do have a couple of other sites in WordPress, but they were both built for me and I really want to try and build this one myself.

    I have several problems but the first one I have is my post, I have 2 pages which I’ve put up, which appear on the menus but the post I’ve put up and published, does not appear anywhere.

    So I need to know how to a. post so that it’s visible and b. create a category and post it to there.

  • To build menus for your site, first login to the WordPress admin at domain.com/wp-admin and then navigate to Appearance > Menus.

    That should get you started.

    Hi Mark,

    Thanks for your answer but I still have a few issues, I can only get to menu by going to my site and hovering over the home button and then I get a drop down with a menus option; I assume this is what you mean?

    Once I get into it, it doesn’t really help me as I’m a complete newb and I don’t know what the various options do, so maybe you could point me to a tutorial if it’s too detailed to go into?

    OK, that’s great Mark, I’m getting that but if I could just ask you two more things on this subject.

    1. The menu seems to be added to the top right by default; how do I change that?

    2. My dashboard menu on the left seem’s to have disappeared; I now just get a collapse menu option but no actual menu underneath this; how do I get it back?

    One more thing (really sorry, tell me if I’m bugging you and I’ll post up another question)

    Even though I thought I had it, I’m still quite not getting it to work; I’ve added a menu called ‘Beginners Guide To Betfair’ following the instructions on the creating menu link you sent me.

    The problem is I can’t see the menu item at the top of the page; when I added a page to it entitled, ‘Football Trading Guide’ that’s what I could see on the top left of the page.

    I’m just a bit confused as I should see the menu there with nothing in it shouldn’t I?
