Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class pclzip

  • I auto updated wordpress 2.7 before i updated my plugins. I’m having problems with creating a new post now and how it effects my blog.

    I am trying to re auto update from the dashboard under the tools section, but i keep getting this error message:
    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class pclzip in /home/content/w/a/y/wayde76/html/4momz/wp-admin/includes/class-pclzip.php on line 171

    Can somebody better explain what this means?

  • Guessing you have the WordPress Auto Upgrade plugin installed so deactivate and delete it. You don’t need it any longer.

    I had the same problem. Deactivating and deleting the wordpress auto upgrade plugin worked! Thank you.

    Is there a built in auto upgrade now or what?

    Yes, actually, there is. Not sure how it works for plugins, though, as I hadn’t bothered deactivating it until now, but the core WP does have auto upgrade.

    I knew I couldn’t be the only one with this problem and I’m glad the solution was so simple! thanks!!
