Can this display only one recent post

I am working on a site for someone and they want something that will give them a photo and excerpt (a photo they can choose from the post and and excerpt they can choose from the post) from the most recent blog post on their static home page – not a list of posts, just the ONE most recent. Can this plug in do that?
