You probably mean that, when you have “Membership – Anyone can register” disabled at WordPress>Settings>General, users can register with the social buttons, don’t you?
This behavior is intended, since there are a lot of users, who want to make the registration only possible with a social provider. So by default, that setting shouldn’t affect on NSL.
However we have a Pro setting at Nextend Social Login>Global Setting>’Membership – Allow registration with Social login’ which was implemented for purposes when the user want to disable the registration with NSL.
