    Hi,

So we have a contact form with 14 drop-down topics.

Users will select one of those 14 drop down entries and send us messages via this contact form.

This exact form will be used on many sites with different domain names such as site1.com, site2.com, and so on.

We want to know also which site (site1 or site2, etc) the message came from in the admin panel because all sites are part of a network and will be managed via single WP admin panel using MainWP.com mass management plugin.

We want to be able to:

    1. get the message delivered to us in the admin panel
    2. user should get confirmation that their message has been sent successfully
    3. able to view, organize and manage all the messages in the WP admin panel
    4. we should able respond and track these message in the admin panel
    5. able to view, sort and manage all messages based on the user selection from the drop-down entries in the contact formthe messages
    6. communicate back and forth on these messages with users kind of like a support ticket from the wp/pluginadmin panel?

Please advise if this plugin is the right one for our use?

If not, we will appreciate any other suggestions for the plugins that can be a good fit for our use.

    Thank you very much.

  • Hey there! ??

Thank you for stopping by and let us evaluate your needs. I’ll try to reply step by step, and prepend a bit of context:

    • HappyForms forms and responses are distinct for each subdomain. This means you’ll have just one plugin, but forms and responses in site A won’t be accessible out of the box on site B.
    • You can overcome the above limitation either by some custom loop, or using WordPress import/export facilities to duplicate your form on each subdomain.
    • HappyForms includes a way to fetch the URL a submission was triggered from. This data isn’t exposed in your Dashboard, because it would just be redundant. You can, though, hook into it with a simple PHP action hook and use it as you like.
    • If your mass-management plugin works with WordPress Core api, it should be able to gather your HappyForms subdomain data in a single place, as it does with your posts or pages (I suppose).

    About your points:

    • get the message delivered to us in the admin panel ?
HappyForms Responses screen lets you filter your submissions by form, sort them on a single field and export them as CSV.
    • user should get confirmation that their message has been sent successfully ?
HappyForms automatically sends a confirmation email to your users (if you configured it to do so).
    • able to view, organize and manage all the messages in the WP admin panel ?
      See point 1.
    • we should able respond and track these message in the admin panel
HappyForms includes a basic read/unread tagging feature. HappyForms assumes you’ll then continue your conversations with your users through email messages. As an included bonus, email alerts you as a site owner receive upon each successful submission include a “Reply and mark as read” link for easier management.
    • able to view, sort and manage all messages based on the user selection from the drop-down entries in the contact formthe messages ?
      See point 1.
    • communicate back and forth on these messages with users kind of like a support ticket from the wp/pluginadmin panel
This would be a really neat feature, but HappyForms doesn’t include any tools for this (yet). How would you imagine it to work? I suppose your users would need some sort of access to your Dashboard, or other screen to submit replies? Feel free to share any details about this, we’re all ears.

Thank you very much for your response.
It really seems to be a well thought out plugin.

    Btw, I didn’t mean sub-domains, but I was talking about unique domains/sites.

All the sites will have Contact-Us link which when clicked actually opens the Contact-Us page on the main site; for example check the this site bozopresident.com when you click the contact-us link at top, it actually opens this link of the contact-us page on main site https://proamericanmedia.com/contact-us/

There will be many sites and contact-us link from all will always open this main site contact-us page https://proamericanmedia.com/contact-us/

So all my questions were related to receiving, organizing, tracking, sorting by drop-down topic, managing, and RESPONDING TO the messages that we get for the entries/topics on the Drop-Down of the contact-us form as above.

Additionally, we also wanted to know which site contact-us page link was originally clicked then the message was sent by the user. Was it from bozopresident.com or some other site because there will be many such sites and all of those contact-us pages will be redirected to open the main site contact-us page https://proamericanmedia.com/contact-us/ and that’s what users will send us the message from.

Regarding responding; was just looking for an easy way to respond to messages via WP admin panel….if it is using email then not sure how the email will integrate in to WP admin interface.

Also I was hoping that users don’t need to be logged in for seeing/responding to the messages, they may be able to respond using their emails to our responses that they will get in their emails. Bottom line is we want to capture everything back and forth in WP admin panel….not sure if it is even possible.

I hope I am explaining it clearly.

Thank you very much for your help.

    Got it, @simple-man!

I think all of your needs are more or less covered (or can be, through some simple PHP hooks). The big, missing piece is handling conversation in your Dashboard.

HappyForms doesn’t include such feature right now, and we’re not aware of a third party solution for that. But we think what you’re suggesting in the last paragraph is really interesting: “they may be able to respond using their emails to our responses that they will get in their emails”. We’d like to develop the idea a bit further with a bit of internal investigation.

Are you already on a timeline? What are your plans for deploying this?

    Let us know!

    Hi,

We are trying to find a suitable plugin currently but if we need to wait few days for something that meets our needs then it is no problem.

It will actually be a great help if HappyForms can provide such functionality.

    Thank you very much again.
    You support is awesome/rocks.

    Hey again @simple-man!

I agree, it would be a wonderful feature! We’ve already noted this down and quickly looked at our options. To be honest, it’s not something we can realistically add anytime soon (there’s plenty of security implications, too).

I also couldn’t find any real plugin alternatives that could help you, apart from two SAAS services that might fit your use case: Postmatic and Replyable. I guess you’ll need to hack your way combining additional tools (HappyForms might handle actual forms).

I hope that helps your planning, let us know what you think!

Ok, will ask my developer to take note of this discussion.

Again, I really appreciate your time and support (including suggestions).

    You guys are awesome!
