You mean you’d like to write your own pattern and have the plugin uses it to generate the filenames? Like ‘%category% %tag%’? Thing is a media doesn’t have any direct relationship with tags, categories or anything. It can only be linked to a post.

    Can you elaborate?

Right now, the media are renamed automatically depending on the title that has been given to them.

Hi Jordy. Tnx for ur reply.
    1. Yes I would like names to be vriten as you said by paterns but ok if this cant be done.
    2. In the box where we should put new file name there is showing filename f.e. qweqf.jpg so I have to write my own one and press update.
What I wanted is, if its possible the plugin to suggest name of the post where the image is (all my images are connected with a post) instead of giving existing filename.
F.e. If post name is Example Name and img file name is qwerty123.jpg when going to media there to be already suggestion Example-Name-qwerty123.jpg

Can this plugin change img name in post name in which its syndicated automatically for every image added to post?

I am afraid it will add complexity to the plugin… I tried to keep it relatively simple to avoid issues (renaming files is already a dangerous operation).

What is your benefit or having many images all starting with the same words?

You can already do it with the current plugin by adding the original post title in the media title. Why don’t you do that?

    Thread Starter wellbeingtips

    (@wellbeingtips)

Yes you are right and Im aware that this plugin does enough stuff and my question is for further SEO.
They will not start with same word as %%tags%% %%Categories%% aren’t same, it will be combination of words between tags categories etc.

How can I automatically change image titles as post titles are?

    Plugin Author Jordy Meow

    (@tigroumeow)

It seems complicated ?? So the plugin would have to randomly choose the tags and categories among the ones linked to the post? (if it would take everything, that would make very long filenames potentially, and be very SEO unfriendly).

Still, I think the best for you is to change the title of the media, and it will be renamed using that title. Do you have that many images?

Hi Jordy. Its not so complicated but as I said this would be maybe some other plugin for SEO.
I would say your plugin does the job but my problem is that I have tool from where posts are published from fronted and renaming files after posts are published is too much job and editing.

In this experiment im not using tags but only categories and custom taxonomy, so I would add just category in the file which can be enough for little improvement.
BTW I see you did some update … Im going to check it out and give you feedback.

Hmm Idk what this new update is doing but anyway I tried to changed some images but got some problem.
Files are renamed but front page images (medium thumbnails) disappear. In the post where is used big image all is ok.
    What can cause this?

What’s your website? How this images are integrated to the website? What’s the code for this thumbnails? (php code, not html)

Website is https://tablazase.com and other things i cant answer coz idk. maybe you can see or give me instructions how to check it.

It’s too complicated to ask you to check everything. Maybe you should hire a developer, it would help you a lot smooth you workflow.

    Plugin Author Jordy Meow

    (@tigroumeow)

You have to change the title of those media to 44 or 55 then Nomi.

no no i want title the same only want to change the file name when user click download they dont have to download it with its own name thats what i need.
i just want to change my all files names only nothing more thanks

Unfortunately that is not what this plugin does…
I think you can find another plugin that does that.
Another solution is to upload the file with the right name from the start: by far the easiest solution.
