    Hello Jason,

Thanks for contributing to the WordPress community. We also use the “Contact Form 7 Honeypot” to effectively block spam submissions from being allowed through the “Contact Form 7” form. We noticed however that your plugin still allows the spam form submissions to be saved into the database. Any advice?

    Hi harpinteractive

I’ve just been testing this and don’t experience the same problem.

    I’ve installed:
    contact-form-7 4.9.1
    contact-form-submissions 1.6.1
    contact-form-7-honeypot 1.12

My contents of my contact form is:

    <label> Your Name (required)
        [text* your-name] </label>

    <label> Your Email (required)
        [email* your-email] </label>

    [honeypot honeypot-63]

    [submit "Send"]

If I inspect the honeypot element, remove the css hiding the input field and enter a value the form submission fails and no submission is saved. If I leave the honeypot field empty the contact form submission is successful and the record is saved in my plugin.

Can you run a test and let me know if you still have the problem?

    Regards

    Jason
