Can Tripadvisor “Instant Booking” work via your Channel Manager

    VikChannelManager and website promotes e4jConnect as a partner with TripAdvisor and with the smooth ability to use TripConnect “Instant Booking” your Channel Manager.
    Your website reads: “TripConnect makes Direct Booking easy for Travellers.
    They can Book Directly on your website (Cost per Click Campaigns) or in your TripAdvisor page (Instant Booking).    ”

    However, we have TripConnect displaying in the Channel Manager, however it seems its not usable by TripConnect on their end.

    TripAdvisor told me: “e4jConnect is eligible for only the Cost-Per-Click subscription and does not support the Instant Booking”

    Can you please assist with how we can use “Instant Booking” on Tripadvisor?

    It’s seeming really hard to get a straight answer, as there is conflicting information, making it difficult for a subscriber or a user to make a decision.

    Hello,

    There’s a bit of confusion here. Our Channel Manager service “e4jConnect” has been listed as a certified partner of “TripConnect” since 2010. Such service offered by TripAdvisor to hotels or similar properties, but not to Vacation Rentals, includes 3 main services: CPC (Cost per Click) campaigns, Instant Booking and Review Express. Our Channel Manager supports all of their services, and many of our clients have been using them for years.

    It is technically impossible to be certified just for CPC Campaigns, because only the business model changes from Instant Booking, where the hotel is charged on a commission basis. It is up to the hotel to enable one service or the other. There can be restrictions on the countries where Instant Booking can be enabled, but this is not up to our service.

    What you were told by TripAdvisor is definitely wrong, especially because you can see that the Instant Booking feature is supported by our CM listed on their official partners page. Once TripAdvisor will have imported your hotel details from our inventory shared with them, you will be able to enable all the available services for your property.

    We suggest getting in touch with our team through our website, especially because this is off topic, as it is not something related to Vik Booking. There are no portals for the TripConnect partners, and so the most we can do is to contact the TripAdvisor Connectivity Team to request some extra information about your property ID. That is another reason why this conversation should not take place on this public forum.
