Can Users Add Details To Their List and Send it To Me?

  • Sorry to bother you guys. I need a favorites, or bookmark kind of plugin to add to my Avada themed site (my site isn’t Woocommerce – it’s just a regular website), that can give people the option to favorite any live bands on my webpages that they like the look and sound of, then when they’re finished looking at our bands, send me the list of their favorited bands, along with a message for me that they can add to their short list, like e.g. what date they need the live band for, where their wedding is etc.. just basic data form would do? Can this plugin do these things, generally? I’d also prefer that they didn’t need to sign up – I’d rather they just be guests.

    thank you for your interest, the short answer is: not at the moment.

    You can allow a user to use it as guest, but at the moment you can not see the data from the admin panel.

    The data are saved in the DB anyway (the table is called “gd_mylist” + wordpress prefix, usually wp_).
    I save only the userID/tempGuestID, page/postID and Date.

    So you can extract this data from your BD directly by query SQL sorted by page/post or user.

    But please consider that, as open source project and single developer, I am working on that only on my free time as you imagine, and weeks of delays for an answer are normal for project like that.

    Thank you SO MUCH Andrea for replying – I had no idea you were doing this on your own, and so I really appreciate your response – I’ve been chasing a solution for this for 6 months.. it’s really getting me down, so thank you. I have to confess though that I don’t understand your answer of “not at the moment”. I’m not very technical, but I hope I can understand. Could you please just explain for me:

    1. If a guest gets on my site, then “favourites/bookmarks” say, 3 of our live bands that they might like to play at their wedding, can they then send that list of 3 bands to me? (Just so I can check if the bands are available for their date).

    2. And if so, can the guest add any extra information somehow to that list as they send it, so they can tell me their wedding date and location.. it would be helpful for me to know those details too.

    First, thank you for your comprehension ??

    Let me start from your question, you can activate the share function, that add the capability to share a particular list by Twitter, Email and WhatsApp.
    I guess you can ask the guest to share with you that page by email or WhatsApp, so they can add some extra information in case.

    Regarding my “not at the moment” in the answer, is because I have list of new functions to add in my backlog, but because of lack of free time are still there.

    Thank you SO much, Andrea. I’ve been experimenting with it all, but I’m really a bit of a beginner. I can make it all work ok, but I really am struggling to work out how to change the My Shortlist page styling (it shows a huge photo for each band rather than a tiny thumbnail and also shows extremely tiny share buttons), and the text for the ‘Add To My Shortlist’ buttons on the posts I need to change also. Are you available for hire to do it for me? I’m very sorry to ask, but please let me know?

    I’m looking for the same setup as you, I havnt downloaded the plugin yet but with the share to email option (if it lets you collect all the selected posts of the wish list) then that button may be changed so when clicked it opens a pop up contact / enquiry form.

    I am going to try it this week as I’ve been searching for this exact feature for favouriting posts then capturing the info into a form that is then sent. I will let you know how I get on. I don’t want to edit the plug-in directly, so I will attempt to find a workaround solution

I’ve been battling to get somewhere with this for over 6 months, and I’ve made no progress – I was about to give it all up until I just read your post – I never thought there was anyone out there! I would be SO thrilled if you could please let me know how you get on later this week when you give this a go.. I don’t know what else to try..     Hi, no nothing at all. totally stuck. been trying to figure ways to use javascript yo copy into the form but can’t. im putting it out to people for custom development to see if someone can build this.
