I’d like to have it so that people can visit my blog and leave comments, but without needing to register and log in. Ideally all comments would be held for moderation. Unchecking all the options in the dashboard did not seem to have any effect. It still says “must be logged in” to post anything.

    Any ideas on this?

  • So under Administration > Options > General you have “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” unchecked?

Not that this is your problem, but remember each Post has a Discussion choice whether comments are allowed or not.

I hadn’t checked that. What I did was on Options > Discussion, I had checked “Comment author must fill out name and e-mail” and unchecked “Comment author must have a previously approved comment” and “An administrator must approve the comment (regardless of any matches below)”

The way it’s set up now, people don’t have to have a username, and their comments will appear right away. If there’s a problem with spam or inappropriate comments, I’ll check off one of the other options.

    Thanks. ??
