Can we click to expand the images somehow?

I’d like to suggest the following scenario. If it can be accomplished, would like to know how to do this:

I have Hot Random Image as a widget for our right sidebar, and the images work great in their proper sizes. Unfortunately, we can’t really do anything with them. We’d love a feature where someone clicks on the image (250 x 250 px) and the image actually opens up onto the page somehow, like a gallery, I suppose.

Am I asking too much? Right now I simply say in the Widget title that people will have to right click to save/download images.

But…if there’s a function you think that would be better, please let me know.
