Can we generate_auth_cookie by using email and password

Hi,

To generate_auth_cookie i am using
https://localhost/api/user/generate_auth_cookie/?username=john&password=PASSWORD-HERE”>

Here, instead of username i wanted to generate auth cookie using either email or username and password, currently it is allowing only username and password.
Is it possible or is there any other way to get user logged in with email and password?
