can we give custom sort for this list

Not at this time, but I could look into adding an option to promote some items a the top of the list in the next week or two.

I have just released a new version to address this request. I added a field under the event editor to be able to set events as featured. When set, these events will appear before all others. If multiple events are featured, they will appear ordered by date amongst all features items.

I also added a class to the event div (featured) to facilitate styling. I hope this will help you in your web projects.
