Can we schedule older backups to be deleted so it doesn't take up too much room

Yes, certainly – that’s what the “and retain this many backups” fields towards the top of the page are for – it will delete the oldest backup after keeping the specified number.

I have configured the plugin like this:

File backup intervals: Daily and retain this many backups: 1
Database backup intervals: Daily and retain this many backups: 1

but I have this:
Backups, logs & restoring:
14 set(s) available
I’m using googledrive, some files are stored there some are still in updraft folder on my site almost filling my quota. Also I see the message:
Last finished backup run: No backup has been completed.
What’s wrong here?

Hi Lucian,

It sounds like none of your backups ever complete. Deletions of old sets only take place after one completes.

I added the first line RewriteRule ^$ – [E=noabort:1] in .htaccess file, I guess I must wait now and the i’ll let you know about the results.

Now apparently it’s copying something to googledrive but I don’t understand why there are multiple archives for the same thing:

Looks like you started off 3 separate backup runs – look at the time component of those files: 1053, 1056, 1059.

You mean manually? Because I did not. I let it automatically…

How did the jobs start off, then? No backups at all start unless something is configured.

I did some ‘save changes’ in the configuration page, could it be that?

No… the only way that backups get scheduled is via pressing “Backup Now”, or via choosing something other than “Manual” in the scheduled settings.
