  • Both versions of Wordfence block a list of known plugin (and other) vulnerabilities. Only difference between the two versions, regarding your question, is Premium updates its firewall list quickly, while free version has a delay. In my experience the free works fine if you run a hardened website and are careful about what plugins you use, no need for the Premium. Install Wordfence on a test website, check it out, look at the rules list under the firewall. You’ll see quite a few plugin vulnerabilities listed there.

The Wordfence scan tells you if you’re using an old plugin. But there is no official standard on what an “outdated plugin” is. Some simple plugins that haven’t been updated in several years can be fine. Others, dangerous. Indeed, the WordPress plugin ecosystem is a horrible mess.

We don’t support using nulled themes at all. If you are using a nulled them (or to be frank, a premium theme that has been altered to allow someone to use it for free, which is really just another way of saying “stolen”) there is something you should be aware of. These nulled themes and plugins are almost always compromised when you get them. Yes, you get to use a premium theme or plugin without paying for it, but the likelihood that your site now has a backdoor installed, or is infected with malware, or is now using your visitors to mine for whatever cryptocurrency that is the flavor of the day is an almost certainty. Do not use nulled themes or plugins. It’s just not worth it.

Will Wordfence protect you? Yes we will. But we can’t protect you if you choose to open the door and invite the hacker in for tea and cookies.

@yiggory I’m going to offer you some advice. Like everything on this site, it’s free.

Can wordfence premium prevent us from nulled themes?

Don’t use nulled themes. Do not. If you do then consider posting your user ID and password to your site on the Internet.

That’s what you are doing when you use a nulled theme. You are handing over your site to very bad people.

*Drinks coffee, coffee is my friend.*

I’m closing this topic. Please do not raise anymore topics about nulled themes. They are not supported here and anyone who uses one is making a very bad mistake.

If you do raise another topic about nulled themes it will be removed.
