Hello! I work for a mid-sized newspaper and we are contemplating a complete redesign of our website. We get about 20 to 25,000 unique visitors a day and a little over 50,000 page views. There are some concerns that wordpress may act slowly if we are a large site with a lot of content and there are many users on at one time. Do you think this would happen?

    Thanks!

  • I don’t think so.

Some of the busiest site’s on the planet are powered by wordpress. Maybe you should optimize your wordpress installation and have a great hosting service.

WordPress can handle this (WordPress.com is, after all…)

    1) Get some caching software set up. WP Super Cache, or W3 Total Cache are my suggestions.

    2) Get SERVER caching working.

    3) Get a GOOD server that can handle the traffic.

    Should be fine.
