    Hi there,

As far as I’m aware, the SKU of a digital product is what links the product to the downloads that the customer has access to. Do correct me if I’m wrong here!

Is there any way you can change the SKU of a product (we would like to do this to make our accounting system easier) without the customer then losing access to the downloads they had previously purchased? As the SKU they purchased will no longer exist?

    Any clarity appreciated – thanks!

  • Hi,

I was checking into my testing site that is using WooCommerce and Storefront, I created an order, and then I changed the SKU.

After making the change on the SKU, I was able to download the previous files without problem.

To check better, please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.?

Can you share screenshot of your settings under WooCommerce > settings > products > downloadable products, please?

For screenshots, you may want to use https://snipboard.io – please follow the instructions on that page, then paste the URL in this thread. Thanks.
