• I’ve been thinking about installing b2 instead….(don’t judge me!)
Is it possible to still have all my posts when I switch to B2?

  • If you’re talking about b2evolution, I’ll warn you that you will have AWFUL spam problems. I had a low traffic b2evolution install that was basically a testbed that was using more bandwidth than several medium traffic WordPress sites, almost all of it spam.

The only way that I’m aware of is just the regular copy/paste method. I’m not familiar with B2, but I think you should be able to at least manually edit the date and time stamps in the database via a tool like phpmyadmin.

You do know that WordPress is the successor to B2, right? I’m not judging your decisions, but a switch like this would technically be a considerable leap backwards, especially considering that B2 hasn’t been updated in two years. Or, were you thinking about B2Evo instead?

b2evo actually too is kinda dead, or at least under little development.

I mean, look at the dates of the releases: https://www.b2evolution.net/downloads/index.html

Anyway, I went b2 to b2evo to WP and haven’t looked back. ??

Yes I know that WP is the latest, but I’m not that happy with it.
Copy & paste huh? That would take a good time. I guess I’ll just somehow stow them all away in an archive. Does anyone know how to do that?

Again, do you mean b2 or b2evo? Huge difference. I REALLY hope you don’t mean b2 as it’s a big security hole at this point probably.

Anyway, you can do what I did with my old b2evo blog – move it somewhere and lock all the comments.

Trust us, please. B2 has not been updated for two years. We know that you’re not happy with WordPress. We’re just trying to keep you from making a decision that you’ll be even less happy with, and eventually compromise the security of your blog and server.

At this point, and given the alternatives, it would be better for you to move to Movable Type or Blogger. At the very least, there is a plugin that will help you export to a Movable Type import/export format. https://dev.wp-plugins.org/browser/wpexport/trunk/
