• Hi, I’ve been unsubscribing from inactive websites, and I thought I cancelled this account. However, a blog I subscribed to contained a profile from WordPress, and I can’t find it, let alone delete it. Now I find I’ve somehow opened a new account in the same name as the blog profile, TedPea, and I’m completely confused, and can’r delete it.
Please can someone tell me how to completely cancel any accounts associated with WordPress?
Every last trace of this dratted website.
It’s not at all fair to confuse people like this.
    Ta, Ted.

You have only created your account here today, and made one forum post, this one.

WordPress is not a global system, every WordPress site is a separate island. We’re not like Facebook, there is no “WordPress account” that covers everything. WordPress is a piece of software, not a unified system.

I set that account up in order to post here.

If every WordPress site is a separate island, I still ought to be able to unsubscribe.

There are two old blogs that I’m still subscribed to, despite my best efforts.

Thanks, Otto, that remark is actually quite helpful, but if you could be of more practical help, then I’d certainly appreciate it.

    Cheers.

www.ads-software.com sites are entirely self-contained and can operate their own subscription systems, we have no control over that.

Typically, there should be some sort of “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any subscription email.
