• I have closed out my old domain name with Namecheap and now I can’t log into my old www.ads-software.com account. Really I have a couple questions.

    1. I don’t recall if I paid for workpress.org. Will I keep getting charged?
    2. I have a new domain name and I’d like to use my old www.ads-software.com account. Can I do that? I’m currently on wordpress.com.

    Any help would be fantastic.

www.ads-software.com doesn’t charge or sell anything and likely you mean WordPress.COM.

You’re posting in the wrong place and need to ask in the correct forum.

    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/support

This forum here is for self-hosted WordPress.ORG software installations.

    This link explains the differences.

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    It’s a common misunderstanding. ??

My apologies. Actually, my original website with the cancelled domain was on www.ads-software.com. Now that I have cancelled that domain, does that original www.ads-software.com account get cancelled as well?

Thanks for the input. My new domain and website is on wordpress.com. Is it possible to move it over to www.ads-software.com? Or will I need to “start over”

Sorry for not being terribly clear the first time. And perhaps not this time as well. I’m still learning.

    Here’s the timeline.
    I had a www.ads-software.com account for my website 2ndnature.us.
I cancelled that domain with Namecheap.
I cannot access .org anymore with that user info.

    I have a new website on wordpress.COM jruggles.com
I’d like to potentially move it to .ORG.
    Is this possible?

Does my old .ORG account still exist at all? If so, how do I access. If not, no big deal.

Hope this is a little more clear. The question actually relates to both sides. Thanks for your insights.

    Nothing to apologize for. ??

www.ads-software.com does not handle any domains, blog or anything and your www.ads-software.com account has nothing to do with any account on your site or anywhere.

The only thing www.ads-software.com does is distribute code for self-hosted installations.

    I have a new website on wordpress.COM jruggles.com
I’d like to potentially move it to .ORG.
    Is this possible?

Sure! But you need to setup your own hosting and this place, www.ads-software.com, does not handle that. But give this a read.

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/New_To_WordPress_-_Where_to_Start

It’s a little verbose but once you get your own hosting setup and ready to go then consider heading to this link.

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/

They have different options to help you out, some are just documentation and at least one is a paid to migrate option. It’s for going from WordPress.COM to your own self-hosted installation.

Thanks for your help. I had done my original site a couple years ago and cannot remember how I set it up.

    I appreciate your feedback!
