Cannot Access Admin Page

Hi Craftylady,

Can you be more specific? What happens when you attempt to login, is the password rejected?

Also who is your provider? I you host on a third party like Bluehost, the update emails are automated and come from your own server.

The error says “Invalid User Name” but it is the same user name and password I have been using. I am using Host Gator. It hasn’t worked since I received this email from Word Press Team.. So I tried changing the password, and it still did not work. Said it was invalid. I’m trying to get into my admin section to make changes.

Whenever we install any script we need to fill
username
email address
password

Now in future if we forget our password, we may easily reset it. Why don’t you try password reset option.

I am not certain that this is the issue, but from you email and the details you have given in your first post, it could be that there are two admin pages. You have mentioned you are trying to login to https://stickerfunpacks.com/stickerwp/wp-admin/ while the email mentioned claims there was an update to your site and you can check the admin page here https://stickerfunpacks.com/wp-admin/.

Could you try logging into the second(https://stickerfunpacks.com/wp-admin/) with your old and new passwords and see if that works.

I changed the password but for some reason it takes me to a blank word press page called…sticker fun packs. Plus it says my username is one different than before.

It is not letting me in to that page. I tried the old and new passwords. This happened after the word press update. Not sure what is going on.
I had a lot of info in that admin page and was almost finished with it.

I put in a support ticket with Host Gator to see if they can see the problem.

Do you have access to phpmyadmin? you could check the details of your database, username etc from there. if you could trace the details from phpmyadmin, you could try using those details to login to your site. A blank It could be a plugin or a theme issue as well. try disabling your plugins using FTP and check if it helps.

Host Gator checked to see what was going on. They said the word press upgrade was loaded to the wrong place. So it seems like it was two admin pages as Saravanan suggested. So they reset it for me, and I have my admin page back again.
