    Hi there,

I have recently just installed the GiveWP plugin on a DIVI child theme (Charvi) that I purchased. Unfortunately, after importing the child theme into my WordPress environment and then creating a form, the “All Forms” section in the GiveWP plugin is not working and I am redirected to an error stating

“There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

    Learn more about troubleshooting WordPress.”

Error Message on clicking All forms section in GiveWP plugin

I am receiving no WordPress email regarding the error.

I am also getting what looks like an error on this page but with absolutely no text to help debug what is the problem.

Would someone please be able to help me resolve this issue? I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, changing permalinks, etc without any success. I see other threads that have suggested for people to go to Donations -> Settings -> Advanced and then enable Advanced Database Updates, however, I would not wish to do this without being specifically told to do so.

Any help would be much apprciated.

    Thanks you

  • Hi @jamieclague,

I am happy to look into this.

T<span style=”color: rgb(50, 55, 60); font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 14.4px; white-space-collapse: collapse;”>hat error message is a WordPress system error that also sends a specific error to the administrator email on the site. If you did not receive</span>?it, then most likely your website is not configured to?send emails using SMTP.

Does your host offer staging environments where you can update and reliably reproduce the problem? We’ll need to see that to get to the bottom of this. It could be a conflict with your theme. Have you tried switching to a default theme (e.g. Twenty Twenty-Three or Twenty Twenty-Four)? Do you still get the same error?

Also, if your website does not have SMTP email setup, you can enable debugging on the website by updating your wp-config.php file. This will display the error message. I would do this on a staging website instead of your live site. Pass along any error messages you are getting, and we’ll be able to help.

If you need assistance with enabling debugging on your website (preferably a staging website), your web host should be able to help. Also, there is some official documentation on that: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/WP_DEBUG

I’m happy to look into it further, but I’ll need to be able to replicate your problem on a staging website.

    Hi!

It’s been a while since we’ve heard back, and I know troubleshooting needs a little extra time. I’m marking this as resolved for now, but if you still have questions, you can send them along right here, and I’ll be happy to hop back in.

    Have a great day!

    Hi Matheus,

Yeah I am not receiving any emails as I mentioned so I will speak to my Host and get a copy of the site setup in a staging environment. How would I grant you access once done ?

    Kind Regards
    Jamie

    Hi Brian,

I now have a staging area setup for the site, what are the next steps for me to help you troubleshoot the issue?~

    Thanks
