• Hi,

I’m trying to log in to my site – danielchisholm.co.uk – and when I get to the dashboard login screen, I type in the details and when it begins to load, instead of loading the dashboard, it refreshes the login page. This is different to if I get the username or password wrong, in which case the dialogue box shakes and some red text comes up informing that it was mistyped, which confirms that incorrect login info is not the issue.

Strangely I can log in on Firefox, but Chrome, Safari and IE will all share the above issue.

Does anyone know why this might be?

    Thanks in advance…

  • HI @paul, I don’t really have an answer to why this happens, but I have had it a few times on certain times.

I have found that when I get to the login page it adds the incorrect redirect (maybe just with out the www).

Try when you get to the login page:

    https://www.danielchisholm.co.uk/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fdanielchisholm.co.uk%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1

remove the redirect etc and reload the page so you are

    https://www.danielchisholm.co.uk/wp-login.php

    And try login in there?

    Thanks, that worked! ??

Still quite annoying that I have to do this, but at least I now know I can access the dashboard when I like.

Thanks again for your help, and if you ever find out what’s affecting the redirect, let me know!

    No problems.

I would try updating the WordPress Address (url) and the Site Address (url) under Settings > General to make sure they match your actual site url, they might be missing the ‘www’ there.

    Hope that helps.
