I activated maintenance mode on my site because of major attacks.
I have disabled all plugins together, and AIOWPS alone, in the cPanel File Manager, by renaming the plugins folder, and when that didn’t work, I tried renaming the AIOWPS (not it’s actual name) folder alone.
Neither measure allowed me to access the dashboard as the only admin.
Anyone have a suggestion how to resolve this?

    Hi,

When you enable Maintenance mode, you will not be able to login via wp-admin.php file. You have to log in via wp-login.php only with admin privileges. However if you enable Rename Login Page or Enable Brute Force Attack Prevention under Brute Force tab you will have to enter the secret word to log into your admin panel.

Let me know if the above helps you.

    Thank you

    Good Morning, @mbrsolution!

Thank you SO Much for your reply. I was getting worried.

I’ve tried the “wp-login.php AND the “wp-admin.php” methods. Neither is working. I haven’t reviewed the settings in the associated dashboard in a very long time. So, I don’t recall if I had Brute Force activated, but I’m fairly certain I did not have rename login page activated.

I’m using GoDaddy cPanel. Is there someway to successfully check those two settings in the cPanel, under MyPHPAdmin, or inside the File Manager, and deactivate the offending setting? Or, temporarily delete the plugin?

I used to do this routinely with no problems. Not sure what happened.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a great day!

Hi, simply rename the plugins folder via FTP. That should allow you to log back in.

It looks like I may have inadvertently neglected to select this box:
“Enable Front-end Lockout: [] Check this if you want all visitors except those who are logged in as administrator to be locked out of the front-end of your site.”

Is there a way to turn this “on” somewhere?

I’ve already tried renaming the plugins folder via File Manager in cPanel, and that didn’t work.

Ok. I FINALLY have this situation resolved. Sadly, I will have to delete this plugin after consulting with my ISP.

I’ll miss not being able to “screen” new users prior to them getting activated, and watching live activity on the page.

    Thanks for trying to assist.
