• I just updated to the most recent version (I think) of WP and now I cannot access my dashboard. I get an error message when I try to log in. I also updated approx 11 plugins before I updated to the most recent version of WP. I have had a WP website for the last 2 yrs, but I don’t know jack about code. Never had this happen. I’m sorta freaking out.

I get an error message when I try to log in.

    What is the error message?

Hi Steve. The error messages is “HTP error 500” along with “page isn’t working” and “currently unable to hand this request.”

    1. Check the error log(s) on your host. The problem should be logged there. (How do you see the log? Depends on your host.)

    2. Enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG and then check wp-content/debug.log to see if there’s a useful error message there.

I use BlueHost. I seem to be having a problem with something called Zend…

Hmmm… that seems like something that needs to be resolved with Bluehost tech support.

Bluehost deactivated the theme I was using (that was customized heavily for me) b/c it was incompatible with the WP update. Now my website looks like …. Oh happy Monday. I guess it was a catch 22 situation. Website looked fine but couldn’t access my dashboard before. Now I can access my dash but my website looks bad.
