Hoping I can find someone who knows what’s going on!

I host our website https://www.ama.ac.nz using iPage. We received an email a few days ago that our site was taken offline (it shouldn’t have been). I’ve been working with iPage tech specialists to get the site back live but here is the current dilemma:

“I have tried to create a new user for your website. However, I was unable to access WordPress dashboard. After entering temporary login details, the page is redirected to website main page instead of WordPress dashboard. I have tried by disabling plugins and changing the theme for your website. Still, unable to access WordPress dashboard. Unfortunately, I was unable to find the root cause of this issue. I suggest that you contact WordPress developer or refer WordPress support forums to get this issue fixed.”

If someone has any solutions to help me log back into our account, I would greatly appreciate it. iPage only keeps a 14 day backup of the site and we have years of content on our site that we cannot afford to lose. I’ve contacted iPage again after being unable to find a way to talk to a live person from WP for help.

    Thank you!

  • Hello,

I would suggest you to Grab the last available backup from the Hosting Provide and try to configure the source in your local environment. That can help to analyze the root cause of the problem.

Once you have the complete Backup of Source Code & Database, it will help you to restore the site. Also, I would suggest, if your Hosting is keeping the backup copies of last 14 days, grab them all never know one copy can be the working copy.

Let me know if I can help you further here.

    Thanks

    Hi Kartiks,
Thank you so much for your advice. After working with the host some more they were able to fix the issue. I grabbed the backup from them as well as exporting my own. Better too many backups than not enough, you’re so right!
Have a great day and thanks again.
