Greetings. I’m relatively new to WP. I am having trouble editing existing pages.

I have successfully logged into my WP Admin panal. I can edit any area w/o a problem, except Manage Pages.

When I try to Manage Pages (edit an existing page), I receive a 404 Error (Not Found, Error 404 The page you are looking for no longer exists). I can also create a new page w/o difficulty.

I’ve deactivated all plugins but this did not change anything. I’ve spent the entire day trying to figure this out and I’m totally lost.

The front of the website works fine. All pages load and display w/o difficulty. I just cannot Manage Pages (edit them).

I need some help. Thank you, in advance! ??

    Sam

    ***UPDATE***

I am happy to report that this problem is solved.

I hope the following is helpful for everyone who’s a part of the Revolution. Here’s what I did:

I slightly changed the name of the existing WP-Admin folder (I added a “1” after the name of the folder for inquiring minds). Then I FTP’d a new WP-Admin folder to my public_html folder. Viola!

It would’ve been really helpful to know exactly which file was causing the problem, but alas, it is not to be. As such, I kept the old folder just to be sure everything works. Over the next day or so, if I have no further problems, I’ll delete it.

I really hope this information will be helpful for others. I’m also hopeful that in transferring one folder in this manner using FTP versus uploading it avoided disturbing auto-update with Fantastico.
