Cannot access Media screen in dashboard

  • I recently changed the Screen View options in the Media pane to show 200 items on one page, up from 20. This was a mistake as the screen times out to an error 404 after several minutes, I presume because it overloaded it. How can I change this setting back to something like 20, either in the database or another way? It is simply the view of Media attachments in the WordPress dashboard I cannot access.

    Although I have had this problem for around 24 hours now, several minutes after posting this I found a temporary workaround – a direct link to the grid screen (?mode=grid) always shows a limited number of items. But I cannot change the value of the list screen back to something manageable without viewing the screen in the first place. Any help is appreciated!
