• I was trying to look at a tutorial to upload my site to online server but foolishly went to my local server’s dashboard and general settings and changed the site’s url to my online domain by replacing “localhost:8888/mysite” to “www.mysite.com”. Now I cant access my wordpress site locally to get into development mode, cant go to dashboard, it says This site cant be reached and localhost refused to connect.
I tried going to myphpadmin locally and changed db_options, changed siteurl and home to “localhost:8888/mysite” but its not doing anything. please help.

  • It sounds like you made the correct changes. Sometimes I find that Google holds onto the wrong destination for a little bit after a change like this. Have you tried a different browser? Check the Network tab in your browser’s Web Inspector and see if it is redirecting you to “www.mysite.com.” This would be a good step to determine if it is a redirect issue you are experiencing or if it is something else.

Hello. Thanks for your reply. When i was changing db_options to the local site, i was entering the wrong url and was getting the error. I was doing localhost:8888/mysite when i should have been doing https://localhost:8888/mysite
