  • Well spotted. I pushed out version 0.9.1 with a fix.

It’s only the reporting of the test feature that was affected. Emails were still sent, including test mails. I believe the new version should be live on wp.org in 15 minutes or so once it filters through.

@callum Macdonald , Its still showing error

I am getting the following error:

Fatal error: Cannot access protected property PHPMailer::$language in [directory]/wp-mail-smtp/wp_mail_smtp.php on line 197

I haven;t been able to use the mailer program

As a follow-up, no test emails were ever sent… I received the fatal error but did not receive the email.

I am also getting the same error message upon upgrading to WP 3.2:

PHP Fatal error: Cannot access protected property PHPMailer

I’ve done a little testing on my site, and this has been affecting real emails, as well as test emails.

I’m looking forward to a fix for this issue. Other than this small issue, I’ve been using the wp-mail-smtp plugin for a little while, and have had much better luck than the built in PHP mail function. Thank you for making a great plugin, Callum.

I pushed the fix into svn already, but there seems to be a bug on www.ads-software.com. When I look at the plugin page the download link says the text 0.9.0 but the link is actually to download 0.9.1. The bug is fixed in 0.9.1. As soon as www.ads-software.com updates properly, it’ll be live.

Just to re-iterate, the plugin still works, there’s just an error on sending a test mail.
