Cannot access site after installing Twenty Eleven

  • I installed the theme but now I cannot access anything.

    I get the error
    Fatal error: Class ‘Twenty_Eleven_Ephemera_Widget’ not found in /home/content/a/f/f/affdba3/html/sunflower/wordpress/wp-includes/widgets.php on line 324

    I get this when visiting the site or in any admin page….

    Please help the theme has crashed the site completely.

    I do not have FTP access either

  • Twenty Eleven needs wp3.2 to run; after you’ve solved the immediate problem, please update.

    if you have cpanel access, try to use this to delete the /twentyeleven folder from /wp-content/themes/

    or you need to ask your hosting company to remove the folder for you.

    Thank you so much for the help.

    I figured that it was going to be related to my version of WordPress. Themes should be prevented from installing on unsupported versions.

    I have got in touch with the hosting company and they will reset my FTP access.

    I am very dissapointed with WordPress that it allowed this situation. Although I accept responsibility, they could have checks in the install script.
