@pluggyboy What version of qTranslate-X are you using, the one from www.ads-software.com that was abandoned four years ago or the new one here – https://github.com/qtranslate/qtranslate-xt

I cannot reproduce this and, as we know there are no problems with using emojis in our fields, I would say you have a plugin or theme conflict. Follow the troubleshooting steps detailed here https://semperplugins.com/documentation/ to troubleshoot conflicts.

Also, make sure you’re following the correct steps on how to add an emoji as per the WordPress doc here – https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/emoji/

thanks for getting back to me. I’m on the old version of qtranslate x, didn’t know about the xt version… i see it’s github based only…. any view on whether i’ll keep my translations if i go for the switch to xt?

I’ve tried adding emojis by copying and pasting from emojipedia, and also from my mobile device. ticks work, anything more ‘extravagant’ such as dog, tennis raquet or swimming emojis cause both the title and the description to save empty…

@pluggyboy I can’t answer questions related to qTranslate-X, you’d need to contact the developers via Github.

I tested copying a tennis ball from https://emojipedia.org/tennis/ and it worked fine so the problem does not appear to be with All in One SEO. I’d say that it could be a problem with qTranslate given that code is so old and hasn’t been updated to work with WordPress in four years.
