  • Same is happening to me … are you getting the error that I posted?

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/nextgen-breaks-under-wordpress-381?replies=2

I have spent hours deleting and re uploading photos since I update to 3.8.1
Have now got most of my galleries working except for two. I have done exactly the same thing for all of them so cannot for the life of me understand why two are not working. If anyone wants to see what I mean then take a look at puertopollensa4u.com
The two galleries that are not working are in the 2 bed apts page and are the penthouse apts.

If anyone knows how to fix this I would be extremely grateful.

@mazzzz – Are you trying to add more pictures to existing galleries?

Are you using the ATP, or are you using Gallery > Add Gallery / Images … or are you using FTP and scanning for new images?

This information may be helpful in trying to sort this out.

    – Cais.

sorry but I do not know what ATP is. I can create a gallery and upload photos, sort the photos. BUT when I save it and post it into my page, it just shows one photo and then when I preview the page it just shows a spinning wheel on a black background. I am using this in the WordPress software with the NextGen plugin.

Hey Cais, thanks for your reply.
I cannot add images either to old or to a newly created gallery.
Uploading the files through FTP and selecting scanning folder for new images, it works. Images are correctly added to gallery.
The import folder does not also work, I mean that there is no chance to select a folder to import.
I confirm that “Drag image and ZIP files here or click Add Files” does not work, it always says “Upload complete 0 images were uploaded”.
Since there are several users that upload pics on our blog I cannot give them FTP access for security reasons.
Thanks in advance for all you’ll do.

    Hi there,
I have 100% the same problem as mazzzz says – can create galleries, can’t upload pictures anyhow after WP upgrade.
WP looks like it downloads pics, then says the following: ‘An unexpected error occured. This is most likely due to a server misconfiguration. Check your PHP error log or ask your hosting provider for assistance’.

I am trying to get error logs (and it takes some time as the hosting provider of this particular website hides logs very well:(). But since I’m not the only one who have this issue, maybe it’s not on the provider’s side?

    Server settings are the following:

Operating System : Linux (64 Bit)
    Server : Apache
    Memory usage : 25.37 MByte
    MYSQL Version : 5.1.71rel14.9

PHP Max Script Execute Time : 120s
    PHP Exif support : Yes ( V1.4 )
    PHP IPTC support : Yes
    PHP XML support : Yes

    Graphic Library

Thank you very much in advance,

    Maria

    Hello again,
My hosting provider hides error logs and refuses to provide them, but insists that their server is OK with Nextgen gallery and that the error is not on their side. ??

Hope, you could help and fix it.

    Best,

    Maria

@justtralala: If you require assistance then, as per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic.

In the meantime, have you considered moving hosts? Any host that refuses to provide copies of error logs on request should, in my opinion, be avoided at all costs.

@esmi, thank you. My problem is exactly the same as in this topic, that’s the reason I posted here.

I’d love to change hosts (and all my sites are at the different hosting), but it’s my client’s desision (they live in Austria and it was more convinient for them to have in-country hosting, and they choose one their friends and colleagues use).

I will recommend, of course, but not sure if they follow.

Unless you are using the same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme & configurations as the original poster, do not post in someone else’s thread. Start your own topic.

Hi, is there any news regarding the issue mentioned in the topic title?

same issue here – AGAIN we are rolling all of our sites back to 1.9.13
This plugin went from being THE BEST photo management system for wordpress to the most bloated, buggy, piece of crap. No offense, but you are not listening to your users. It really saddens me that this plugin has come to this, but at this point its just a joke. with each new wordpress revision or plugin revision, things are just jacked up.

we literally spend a month to 2 months auditing our servers to backdate nextgen every time we think its fixed. we host several hundreds of sites with this plugin and its the only plugin that gives us issues. its cost our company SO MUCH TIME AND MONEY since it was taken over by photocrati! its just not worth it at this point.

sorry to rant, but i hope anyone reading this understands the implications of the massive issues you could potentially face by using this plugin.

@mazzzz – In order not to get lost in this pile-on, might I suggest submitting a Bug Report (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can try to help you get this sorted out.

We will need log in and FTP credentials for your WordPress installation as well, please include those with the Bug Report.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.

PS: @esmi, thanks for trying here. C.

There is obviously a common error going on here. I am having the same issues on one of my client’s Word Press installs.

Why don’t you address the issue here. We all don’t have the same installations, yet I’m sure the issue is the SAME. No images uploaded.

I’m not about to give this client FTP access. She barely knows how to use Word Press.
