• Normally, Add button should active but it doesn’t. It’s shown as grey color and cannot click. Could you please help?

  • Try to find out if your theme or a plugin is causing this. For starters, disabled all your plugins and see if things are working. If they are, start activating one plugin at a time, and each time test to see if things are working. If a plugin was not the cause, replace the theme with one of the default ones. If your theme was not the cause either, then we are left with the WP core and your server. Go to the update screen and re-update your WP again, just in case your WP files are corrupt. Other things could be a virus, or even some bad JavaScript in the cache causing this. So empty your browser cache just in case too.

If none of the above works, post here again, to continue…

    Hey Guys,

I tried everything Nick mentioned. But the reason was hiding in profile settings ??
I even published a post about it, check it out https://rudrastyh.com/gutenberg/can-not-add-blocks.html

    Thanks Misha!

I searched for two hours already and could not find this simple solution!!

I wish the developers of WordPress want to make it more user intuitive and less “look-we-are-fancy-developers”.

I downloaded the gutenberg plug in; however, when uploading on line, the space where the two boxes should be is blank. Any idea how to fix this? I have the newest version of WordPress.
