I formerly used to make a custom menu with important post and pinned it in the widget sidebar. Such a menu is already created (but is showing its elements in a distorted manner) but now when I open the menu tab (Admin Panel>Appearance>Menus), I only get “Pages,” “Links,” and “Categories.” There used to be posts and even tags I remember.

No matter what I try: making a new menu, editing a former menu, or editing the menu which already has posts (in a distorted way) in it, the option for adding posts to the menu doesn’t appear at all.

There has never been a option to add Posts or Tags to custom menus in WordPress by default. What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?

What the hell you’re talking about! I used to add them in my old blog site and also added in this new site (as I said: I even have the menu with posts and you can visit my website at https://japanaddicts.org/ – scroll down and on the right sidebar, you’ll find a “Further Reading” module – it houses a few posts).

Again, I’m using Codilight and a theme reseller sold me this and set it up on my host for me. He also emailed me the zipped file.

So well given that you don’t support commercial themes, it’s no use asking for it here right?

But hey, in my old WordPress.com blog, I ran Twenty Fourteen and that also allowed for posts to be added. I had a menu named QuickDive (you can visit https://japanaddicts.wordpress.com/ and in the sidebar, you will find an image with QuickDive written on it, and following is such a menu.

I must say I’m very disappointed that people don’t know about it. I found the solution, anyway. It’s irritating, but extremely, pathetically, simple.

You just go to Appearance>Menus. Then, go to the Screen Options (you get me now right? Probably you’re laughing, if you had this problem). “Check” the “Posts”! And poof, you got your posts. You can now enter them in a custom menu.

And a moderator didn’t know about it. What a waste.
