cannot add private pages to logged in menu

    I can only add public pages to the menu, not private ones. Is this a limitation with wordpress, or am I missing something? I want to create a custom menu for logged in users, showing pages that are only visible when logged in – if I can only add public pages to the custom menu, that kind of defeats the purpose…

    nevermind I have to make the pages first public, add them, then I can mark them private. thanks!
