    Hi,

I have used Pardot plugin on my local host, and works 100% fine, so I know my login details work.

However, when I try to set it up on a live site, same setting ect, it does not work, it just says ‘Cannot authenticate. Please check the fields below and click “Save Settings” again.’

I have looked through the tickets and have tried the main idea, i.e re-set password, white list ect.

can you shed some light on this?

    Wordpress version: 4.7.13
    Pardot: 1.4.9

    Hey @rachelburke95,

Sorry for the trouble. If you’ve got IP Security set up properly (either disabled or having whitelisted your public server’s IP address), then I would look at your server configuration. Sometimes the plugin isn’t able to make outbound calls to the API because the server is too locked down.

    Hey,

Thanks for getting back to me! I finally got to the bottom of the problem.

I installed ‘log HTTP request’ which lead me to identify the error I was getting back. which was ‘ cURL error 35: SSL connect error’.

After some googling and checking this is because our cUR/Server needed updating to use TSL 1.2, as pardot no longer supports 1.0.
