• Hallo,

    I am a new user of wordpress and i’ve got my website running and working (www.autoschluessel-online.de). Currently i am trying to rank my website higher and one important aspect is the size of the website. In the current form the site is pretty big and i want to use gzip to compromise the website. On the internet ive found that its posible to enable this option in wp-admin/options.php.

    When i got o options.php i see the gzipcompromission option, however its set to 0 and in order to enable gzip it needs to have 1. If i try to change this, it says succesfull added, but if i look to the gzipcompromission option it still says 0.

    Does someone here have an idea what the problem is or has dealed with comparable problems?

    I worked myself on fixing it and i think it may lay in the default settings of the options.php. (preheps it sets it automatically back to 0). If i open options.php in the ftp, i find this, but i am not sure what to change:

    <?php
    /**

     *
     * If accessed directly in a browser this page shows a list of all saved options
     * along with editable fields for their values. Serialized data is not supported
     * and there is no way to remove options via this page. It is not linked to from
     * anywhere else in the admin.
     *
     * This file is also the target of the forms in core and custom options pages
     * that use the Settings API. In this case it saves the new option values
     * and returns the user to their page of origin.

    I have the same problem with options.php.
    I change some settings, it says successfully updated, but when I check back, nothing has actually changed. I noticed that the problem exists no matter which settings I am trying to change.
    Any ideas?
