Cannot clear dropdown of past invoices when searching templates

Hi, I am finding that the more invoices that are created, the greater the number of invoices that are showing in the search dropdown of the “Existing Invoice” Box (in the “Add New Invoice” page) when searching for an existing template, as they all start with the same name (all invoices are identical except the customer name, product is the same).
The only way to clear this number is to permanently delete the invoices, but I don’t want to do this because then of course the invoices are lost.
Is there a way of managing this in the plugin? Or by going into the .php files to clear the data from a lookup table related to the search, without clearing the underlying data – or is it all pulled from the same place?
