cannot connece jetpack with wordpress.com [register_http_request_failed]

    hey there
    i am having problem connecting jetpack with wordpress.com and so cant use any of the features. it shows the following error when “connect jetpack” is pressed…

    Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host.
    Operation timed out after 5 seconds with 0 bytes received

    if anyone know a solution please help
