Cannot create configuration file – XP laptop
-
Installing WP 2.7 in lightTPD(no SSL) with fast-cgi on XP laptop (AMD64). Cannot get past WordPress ‘create a configuration file’ hurdle. I hit ‘let’s go’. change username to root and guess passwords including root, the password I thought I might have used, and blanking out the password.
When I hit submit, I get a totally blank window. Window header is https://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/setup-config.php?step=2 (all grayed out except the word ‘localhost’). I suspect this is not just a password problem. Wouldn’t it say ‘wrong password’ instead of sending a blank window?
Task Manager shows mysqld-nt.exe, lighttpd.exe, and php-cgi.exe all running.
cmd netstat -ban -p tcp shows ports 0.0.0.0.80, 0.0.0.0.135, 0.0.0.0.445, 0.0.0.0.3306, 127.0.0.1.1025, 127.0.0.1.5152, and 127.0.0.1.10000, etc all listening
I have no idea what that all means; I’m just the reporter.
This, after an earlier successful install of same setup, except with ssl on Vista. (success on Vista and failure on XP – amazing)
Please help. I need to be able to use this laptop for WordPress demo.
