    Hello,

I use Gtranslate to create multi-language pages for my website. The website structure is https://www.de.websitename.com. I use subdomains for multilanguage.

The question is Google doesn’t crawl my multilanguage websites. I searched with Google Search Console URL inspection. It shows that those multilanguage URLs are not on Google. Google doesn’t crawl those pages for almost 1 month.

So I check my sitemap created by the Yoast plugin. It shows the English version only. Do I need to re-create a multilanguage XML sitemap? If Yes, can anyone tell me which tool I can use?

    Hello Carol

We understand that you want multilingual sitemaps. However, Yoast SEO does not have a way to parse out different sitemaps for different languages. However, we thank you for suggesting a new feature for one of our plugins. We’re not working on it at the moment but there is a feature request for this, so our developers can consider this when planning updates.

We add all the languages to the same sitemap. So all posts (regardless of language) will appear on the post sitemap. Doing it this way is not expected to hurt the SEO or how Google crawls your site.

    Hello Maybellyne,

Thanks for your reply. It would be great to have new Yoast updates.

But the sitemap has no difference before and after I use Gtranslate. I download the sitemap and open it with TextEdit, I cannot see other languages either. Will it works if I delete the current sitemap and create a new one with Yoast?

    Thanks for following up.

You can find XML Sitemap in your WordPress dashboard > SEO > General > Features. Scroll down to XML Sitemaps and ensure it is enabled and ‘Save Changes’. Next, click the question mark icon to reveal more options and then click ‘See the XML sitemap’.
