Cannot customize any theme!

  • Hello, I am extremely new to WordPress and I have just recently started my photography portfolio. I have noticed that when I download a theme, you are supposed to be able to click customize and a live preview of your website will appear with a left sidebar with what I think is supposed to be drop down option thingy’s to let you ‘customize.’ I see the tiny downward arrow marking that a drop down menu is there, but when I click on it, nothing happens. I have tried this with dozens of themes and I’ve tried researching this and it just isn’t working!

    I am using the theme “Arcade Basic.” My website is https://www.jessicharms.com/ <= Not sure if that helps at all. I am also hosted by Webhero.

    I really need help with this and as I said I am EXTREMELY new to WordPress so I don’t know anything about the style sheets or any of the coding stuff. (I can try if I need to.) Thanks for your help!

    EDIT: I am currently trying new themes so it may or may not still be Arcade Basic

  • Why don’t you try and activate a wordpress default theme like 2014 or 2013 or 2012… see if that fixes your customize issue.

    Some web hosting companies are very helpful. You might try to contact them to see if they can make suggestions or try and troubleshoot.

    Yes, I just tried the 2012 theme and nothing was different! I will contact webhero and see if they can fix it.
